Over $1m Worth Turquoise, Precious Stones Exported

TEHRAN Deputy Head of the Export Promotion Center of Iran (EPCI) Hossein Soltani said here Tuesday that more than one million dollars worth turquoise and precious stones were exported in the first four months of the year, that is over March 20-June 21.
Soltani told the first meeting on gold, jewelry and precious stones that the amount of exports in the first four months of this year showed 386 percent growth compared to the same figure the same period the year before.
He said that 162kg of jewelry, gold, silver and ornaments, worth $171,569, were exported in the first four months of the year.
He added that last year, 28,549kg of gold, jewelry and silver, worth $2,591,591, were exported.
There are 70,000 industrial units in Iran that are in the production field of gold and precious stones.
